The holiday season has been too a-bustle for me to blog about every store window that has turned my head. Now, two days before Christmas, allow me to present the best of the best: the display at the Bergdorf Goodman store on Fifth Avenue.
The designers ditched the egg nog and cherubic children — yawn — and created wild, frosty fantasies of socialites from the Upper East Side hobnobbing with creatures of the far North.
Someone spent a warchest assembling these masterpieces. I bet the budget was written before the markets crashed, when many could still afford to buy a purse at Bergdorf Goodman. I can’t help but ponder what the displays will look like next Christmas. Will they have vanished like Lehman Brothers and executive bonuses? And what will take their place?
Enjoy the swan song of the Gilded Age, below. We hardly new ye.

Once again, sickened by how FAB NY is! So unique. Who else would have such interesting windows? Thanks for yet another virtual trip and enjoy your first holiday season there. Trade ya?
